Snow

As mentioned in the first post, I came up with the idea for this blog by watching the snow so, obviously, I decided this post should be about just that. Snow. So, here it goes...

A few days ago it was snowing, and when I got home, I stopped for a moment before walking inside and let the snow fall silently around me. In the distance, I heard birds chirping. Being the only noise I heard, the sound seemed out of place. Later that night I was looking out the window, watching the snow again. Where the streetlight shined, I could see just how many sparkles were falling soundlessly from the sky, making the road shimmer in the dim light where they landed. Watching this happen, a feeling of calm fell over me. Everything was quite and still, and the earth seemed pure again, washed by the stainless white of the snowflakes. The scene was truly breathtaking. It is an example that there is beauty in this world after all.

Hello there...

For quite a while now, my mom has been telling me I should write a blog. When I asked her what about, she told me I should write about what is going on in my life. I didn't really like that idea, so I never gave it much thought. The other night though I came up with the idea for this blog by looking outside at the beautiful falling snow. There is much ugliness in this world, but there is also so much beauty. We forget to "stop and smell the roses," and look around at all that beauty. I want to share all the simple but beautiful things we often look over in life. I'm new to this whole blogging thing, but I have always loved to write, so I decided to start this, and we'll just see how it goes. Hang in there with me, and remember, there is beauty in this world after all...
